While this page is primarily for moderators, it will have important tips for anyone creating content so you can see what valuable content does NOT look like.

Fost try to create interesting and informative content that will benefit readers.  This is how you benefit yourself.

Unfortunately, there are some who don't care about the quality of someone else's website and are simply looking to create spam and/or to generate an undeserving link back to their website.

First, an example of keyword spam and utter unintelligible gibberish. 

Here, the word being spammed is "flower delivery" and the article is pure rubbish.  This isn't even badly spun content - it's just a horrible mashing of different sentences with no attempt that they make sense. 

While articles can have some spelling mistakes.  Punctuation and grammatical errors.  Even the occasional bad sentence that we're all prone to creating - junk like this should never be found on Da Find:

Flower Delivery Promotes Positivism

Every problem bears a solution. Each action has an equal and diverse reaction.

There is a perfect flower for any feeling that must be conveyed. There is a specific floral arrangement for any opinion that should be conveyed. Just about every type of a customer has a perfect flower store. There is flower delivery for every floral statement that needs to be sent out.

Flower delivery would likely mend all of the world's relationship problems. After binges of jealousy, Romeos and Juliets need to return to each other's arms. Husbands and wives must, despite hostile conflicts, reconcile. Erring youngsters must be forgiven by their fathers and mothers despite having wronged countless times.

Disobedient sons and daughters must make amends even if they keep on coming back to the same dreadful habits. Militant sects, despite being on hostile sides, should smoke the peace pipe.

Flower delivery could be the single most meaningful means to emphasize positivism. A fantastic public presentation asks laurels. Acquiring the most leading marks in school is commendable. Marriages should be observed with more than peals of fortuitous wishes. A triumphal return calls for more than just a welcome signboard that is gigantic. A groundbreaking love affair is sealed with a great deal more than a buss.

Blossoms convey just about any and every emotion known to man. Speaking the language of love are blooms. Sincerity, happiness and appreciation, as a universal language, are verbalized by blooms. A more wholehearted sympathy and the most fluent of empathy are offered by blooms.

Enjoyably surprising is flower delivery. A solemn gesture it is, this flower delivery. Flower delivery is perfect, despite having the sender of the blossoms and the receiver of said blossoms poles apart and miles away from each other.

Whatever the weather condition, flower delivery happens. Economical it is, as well. Making flower delivery so practical is the fact that it breaks roadblocks of time and space.

Bloom delivery is rooted in the early 20th century. Florists then begun to sell flowers and deliver these in boxes to the identified receiver. A person who required the bloom delivery posted a wire to a florist in the neighborhood of the receiver of the blooms. No networks of florists existed still during this time.

Florist shops commenced forming networks when bloom delivery got more predominant for the holidays in the 1960s. Telephone networks in the 1980s made delivery less complicated.

Today, there are 3 popular ways of flower delivery - internet ordering, local florist delivery and telephone delivery.

If you're wondering -- that is the complete article that was submitted, and the author was banned.

When you come across a bad article, a judgment call needs to be made on whether to simply decline the article as not appropriate, or to also remove the author's publishing privileges. 

Here, where this is obviously intentional crap where the author has no desire or intent to write anything useful - and is simply spewing junk in an attempt to get a link back to his website - banishment is the appropriate remedy.

That does not mean every violation of the rules deserves such a strong punishment.  Rather, for most articles simply declining the publish it is sufficient.

The second example is of generic garbage. 

While this article is not as bad as the first example, it came from an author who submitted six 300-word articles, all virtually in the same format as below.  You'll note a lack of any specifics.  Some sentences do not make sense together, but the big problem is its extreme generality.  What do you learn about getting bigger arms from the article?  Nothing.  It's merely a bunch of generic fitness and and health sentences and paragraphs strung together - none of which is helpful to the reader.

Like all fitness goals, when you want to build bigger arms, there are a few main factors to focus on. The same basic principles apply to all bodybuilding goals. Whether you wish to have bulky arms to show off or you really want to increase muscle mass to increase strength, you still follow the same guidelines.

Nutrition is the cornerstone to good health in general, and it is imperative to follow certain nutritional guidelines when embarking on a muscle-building workout regimen. Increased intake of protein and carbohydrates will increase energy levels and encourage muscle growth.

It's also crucial to eat enough of the right fats, such as omega-3 found in salmon. Eating habits should be frequent meals throughout the day in enhancing metabolism. Following simple guidelines when it comes to diet and nutrition will encourage muscle growth and allow you to have bigger arms.

The biceps and the triceps are the main muscles in the arm. It's important to do exercises that work both muscle groups to enhance overall growth. Push-ups and pull-ups are the easiest and most effective exercises to build up bigger arms.

Following a well-rounded exercise regimen that incorporates work in all muscle groups is the best way to enjoy the most successful results. From bicep curls to a traditional push up, there are many exercises to incorporate into your routine that enhance muscle growth.

It's easy enough to apply basic bodybuilding principles to focus on specific areas of the body. Whether you want bigger arms, stronger legs, a flatter stomach, or all of the above, following basic bodybuilding guidelines will help you meet your goals. The better your nutritional content, the quicker you will increase muscle mass, so it's important to think about your diet during all workout regimens. A simple addition of push-ups to your regular workout can enhance arm muscles in no time.

If this was a single article from a new author, the article should be declined with a note to the author of the reason why.  Repeated violations can result in a ban.  It appears this is probably an 'outsourced' article, probably quicken written by someone on the cheap where they through together some sentences they found elsewhere about the topic.  This is not article writing.

A third situation involves irrelevant links. 

Sometimes an article will be fine.  But at the end the writer includes links to pornographic sites.  Or, commonly, Viagra, oxycontin, or some other commonly spammed word.  Great leeway should be given to the relevancy of links.  But here we're not talking about anything justifiable. 

One option is to delete the links and approve the remainder of the article.  Another is to ban the writer.  This link abuse is usually quite blatant.  To justify a ban, it is not simply irrelevancy of the ending links, but an attempt to get Da Find to link to bad places on the Internet.  Our reputation is too important to allow that.

Finally, a fourth situation is where the author is linking to a junk website.

Not only should the content of an article be reviewed, but if the author is creating links to other websites they should be followed to see what it is that is being linked to.  Usually, the result is very pleant - a nice informative site.  Sometimes, though, your jaw drops at the crap.

We're not talking about how a website looks, although appearance issues can often be indicative other more substantive problems.  Rather, is the writer creating a link to a site with junk content that no person would ever read.  Junk content such as that listed in the first two examples above.  It happens.  In that instance the link can be deleted.  Or the article declined.

Search engines such as Google can penalize a website if it links out to bad websites, so it is important that our content not do that.
