Share Interviews: Being able to create fantastic quality content for your blog from nothing about a topic that you do not know too much about probably seems too good to be true. This is actually quite do-able! If you conduct and then publish interviews with experts in your field you can do exactly this. There are probably tons of experts out there that would be ready to give an interview to you if you approach them. That doesn't mean that you don't have to do some prep first though--you need to find the right expert, create your questionnaire and decide how to conduct the interview (phone, e-mail, etc). The good news is that all of the work you do in preparation will be incredibly valuable to the people who read your posted interviews. It doesn't really matter even if the interview is long because good content is never enough. Ranting: Do you ever feel strongly about something and want to talk about it? Ever had something to get off your chest but didn't know how to do it? You could be having these feelings for all sorts of reasons. A blog is a great place to write down those feelings and share them with others through your posts. Rants are typically well received posts because your readers like it when you speak your mind, especially if doing so offers them some sort of value. If you would like your blog to be popular and have a happy and participatory audience, posting rants as blog posts every once in a while when you feel strongly about something is a good way to do that. Feature Industry News: When you run a B2B blog or a blog on some other specific niche market, you can always bring in readers by featuring original content about the latest industry news and developments. Not only does this help your blog stay current, it puts you ahead of your competitors as an offerer of very timely content. It's easier to turn a visitor into a subscriber when you feature regular reports on up to date industry news. To do this well, you will need to work hard at staying up to date on what is happening in your industry and have a variety of sources to back you up so that you won't ever be left behind. Doing things at the right time is how you will find success with this. You can set up "Google Alerts" to help you with this because they send you a notice whenever something featuring your industry shows up in the news. Basically, creating good content for your blog takes some time and work and you need to make sure you explore new things once in a while. |
